Course Schedule & Start Dates

We did in the past both intensive weekends and condensed virtual courses. However, the feedback we received from participants wasn’t the overwhelming positive responses we’re used to hearing. The pace was too quick for people to integrate the skill sets into their practice. And it felt rushed. 

Instead for courses designed to train individuals (non-university), we decided to stay with the six month, once a week rhythm of meetings but help coaches start to establish their coaching practices as early as a month or two into the training program.

For universities or colleges who need to train advising staff more quickly, we can look into a few solutions, but we still highly recommend meeting only once per week. We have offered a hybrid approach to having a full day workshop combined with online meetings to follow.

Usually five or six. ALC programs usually start August, October, January, March, and May.

It depends. Course enrollment is highly variable. Some courses seem to fill weeks ahead. Others still have space even after the course starts.

Six months for the 1.0. Same of the 2.0. The group mentor coaching takes two months and can be taken concurrent to the 1.0 or 2.0. 

Once a week.

Yes. The advanced coach training courses are open to students who have taken the 1.0 ALC, but the 2.0 Advanced course is recommended as a prerequisite.
